The 1,650 registered nurses at Washington Hospital Center, members of National Nurses United, will be going on a one-day strike on Friday, March 4. They are taking a stand to improve patient care, maintain nursing standards and protest their employer’s unfair labor practices.
Washington Hospital Center is part of the MedStar Health chain, based in Columbia, Md.
Last year it made $142 million in profits and is sitting on $1.5 billion in cash and investments.
MedStar is waging a war on its nurses, refusing to adequately staff Washington Hospital Center and insisting that nurses reduce their standards. The nurses are resisting this corporate agenda and they need your support.
